Hallstatt Walks...
The picturesque village in the heart of Austria's alpine lake district is the perfect place to begin two circular walks in the Salzkammergut.

Debra and David take you walking through the rugged mountain landscape; down slides inside a prehistoric working salt mine, into a spectacular ice-cave and around Hallstatt's pristine glacier lake in this captivating and beautiful region. They talk to local people in national dress and learn about this amazing world heritage site, over 7000 years old.

Discovering Salzburg
Historically and cuturally rich the medieval city is the focus of part two. The couple explore the old streets and fortress to experience it's heritage, speaking to the Artistic Director of Salzburg's world-famous marionette theatre, and a Chocolatier whose famous family business is still making the reknowned 'Mozart balls'.

Mozart was born here, the'Sound of Music' was filmed here and the prestigious Salzburg Festival are all testaments to the city's unique musical history. The wonderfully inspired compositions on the soundtrack of both films are written and performed by Barnaby Smith.
